As I recall from that story, players who could jump higher would be required to wear weights to keep them from doing so. Also, players with larger hands would have to wear gloves that would restrict their ability to palm the ball as easily.
While you’re at it, change the scoring convention. The higher the basket, the higher the score, bounce off rim and into a different basket would double the score. I can see sinking a 16 pointer.

Travelling should be eliminated. Just run the ball down keep away and shoot. Dribbiling is out of date.
