The turkey you create is alive so that makes it more appropriate for the vegan than for someone who would already have a turkey in their refrigerator sans head, feet, feathers, etc.

Back when we did the three day week I had a rather complex system — today (Monday) was also Wednesday, since there were two more days until the end of the week. Tomorrow (Tuesday) was also Wednesday since it was the middle of the week, but also Thursday, since it followed the re-identified Monday/Wednesday. Wednesday was Friday.

I could go on, but I have no idea what day to call today now.

Talked it over with the missus and we decided no turkey this Christmas. It stinks up the house for days and is just not worth it.

We got 2 days off. But then the janitor wasn’t allowed to sit in on the classes, either.

If you follow the real history of the Pilgrims, it was one big screw-up after another, right from the start. (And I do mean from the start. The original plan was to cross the Atlantic in two ships, but the Speedwell had serious problems keeping the ocean on the outside of the boat, and after two attempts and two turnarounds, they said “oh, ye hell with it” and all squeezed onto the Mayflower just in time for the stormy season.) Once ashore in the future Massachusetts (not their intended destination of the future New York), disease and hunger decimated the colony. It’s remarkable that enough Pilgrims survived to have the harvest feast that would become Thanksgiving, but they did. And here’s what they got right: They ate turkeys, which would provide young American students a reliable, easy and flexible holiday art project for generations to come.

Rural Pennsylvania schools also get next Monday off – the first day of deer hunting season.
