The worst part about sorting socks is having one left. I have a dark red sock that I can’t find the other one for. I tore my room apart looking for it with no luck. I still hold onto the one I have, because I know that as soon as I toss it out the missing one will magically appear.
I go with the simple approach. Buy the exact same socks in bulk. Don’t need to sort them, or worry about losing one, since they all match with each other
Read the memo. people, read the memo. Some socks are only sock mimics, and are actually the larval form of a wire coat hanger. That’s why socks vanish and wire coat hangers take over the closet.
What was it, about a week and a half ago that Michigan State beat Duke in the NCAA quarterfinals? I remember watching the last part of that game thinking it wasn’t going to come down to which was the better team so much as which one happened to have the clock run out at the right time.
So it is with today’s strip. Miss Plainwell scores the final point on the right-hand wall of the final frame. Game over, Miss Plainwell advances. But there was still more discussion to be had, to wit, whether or not sorting socks serves a whole lot more purpose than talking about sorting or not sorting socks. Miss Plainwell was fortunate the curtain came down after two frames and six dialogue balloons. And, probably, so are my readers.
The Danish poet Piet Hein said: Losing one glove is certainly painful but nothing compared to the pain of losing one, throwing away the other, and finding the first one again.

I like that Frazz is wearing a DeFeet shirt, whose main product is socks :)

I pin my socks together with a diaper pin. They come out of the wash already sorted.

If the left sock is missing, the troll took it.

And if you wear the same pattern of socks all the time, there’s no need to match socks… Pair them, roll them, and put them away.

I’ve been like Frazz since I was a teenager. Only wear them when I have to.
