You commenters are so funny today! It’s just a dog being a dog. Fred is large enough that he probably can’t even get in the pond! Jock just—loves the water! Crazy lil guy!
There’s something special about Scottys. Our’s used to relish a freezing nor’easter raging in from over the Chesapeake Bay. She’d go out the doggy door and face into the wind with a smile on her face while the other two dogs were snug in bed with us.
Scotties (aka Short-Haired Aberdeen Terriers) have that coarse fur and are designed for seeking out vermin in the harsh weather of Scotland. Ours had no issue with rain or snow (or anything else, for that matter) and I suspect that the pond wouldn’t really bother Jock all that much.

No Fred, he will just do anything for a ball!

No Fred. Jock’s is willing to help a friend out more than you.

It would be better if you yourself retrieved it. That other dog is too small.

Some dogs love water ! What season we are in does not matter to them ;-)

Not only cold, but it looks stagnant, too. Both Jock and the ball are going to be funky (and cold) for a while.

It’s a garden pond, that’s pond greenery, not scum.

My cousin once told me I was foolhardy and I replied, “Well, you’re fool Laurel.”

My neighbor had a cock-a-poo like that. Any water was her game.

Icy why Fred wouldn’t want to go in that water.
