I think you are on a “seefood diet”…you see foods and you eat it!

And do they include you in their weekend binges? Do you get any tid bits, any fall out fall your way, any floor food?

Those diets don’t work for me, because I can gain more weight in one day than I lose in 6.

The Dears weaken at the weekend.

We usually say “chips” rather than “fries” here in the UK. The word “fries” is catching on here due to American TV and movies plus American Fast Food restaurants such as MacDonald’s and Burger King.

I think this is a good idea!

That could work and all three can look forward even more to the weekend

So what is it that Mrs. Dear is handing to Mr. Dear? If those are American “fries” or “French fries”, that bowl is holding a heck of a lot of them, and I can’t imagine anyone (or at least anyone older than their teens or 20’s) being able to eat anywhere near that many (and “fries” don’t hold up very well as leftovers!). That’s enough for something like an outdoor BBQ with a dozen people. Could it be some other fried food, or potatoes fried differently than American “fries”? Otherwise, I would think a few decades back, when this strip was written, that they most assuredly would be calling these “chips”.
