No, There’s no way he was going to give you the chair and take the floor to watch TV. Dear could’ve shared, but I’m not sure that would’ve been comfy for you. He’s kinda lumpy.

Fred uses an odd phrase…to me, anyway. “I didn’t really think I would get away with it” seems correct to me. But there are plenty of American phrases that are technically incorrect so, ..Good enough!

We had a different situation with Monster the Mighty Moose…we would sit on the sofa, and THEN he would climb in our laps, make some happy growls, and go to sleep.
