I second the comment on the 500 years of women’s portraits. Incredible work on the transitions. And I too would like to be included in the next compendium of horrific accidents.

My shrink has started to notice my interest in this strip as well as a certain other. He has upped my scripts.

The 500 Years of Female Portraits was amazing but every once in a while there was a sort of vertiginous effect that made me blink and shake my head to clear it.

Regarding Godzilla’s latest meet and greet in Frog Blog, I’ve consulted Godzilla expert August Ragone, who corrected me. The Godzilla suit is not from Godzilla vs. The Thing, but rather from 1965’s Ghidrah the Three-Headed Monster.

The photo is from the new Godzilla suit’s first public unveiling, which occurred in December of 1964.

Until the early 1800s, Hawaiian women were not allowed to eat most banana varieties. The penalty for breaking the law was death.

And yet GoComics allows Ziggy to run around WITH NO PANTS ON! What sort of message does this send to our innocent 13 year olds, of which I was one once? Bananas, no, expose yourself, yes? Which would you rather your innocent little teenager saw, the Z-man, a perverted exhibitionist or a banana, a healthy snack food? You get potassium from bananas - what you might get from Ziggy is better left unsaid - there might be 13 year olds reading this…

People who wants to be offended can always find something to take offence of.

I might not always get the joke here, but I have yet to find somthing to take offence over here.

Not every cartoon is funny, not everyone will “get” a given cartoon. However, given the political trash I’ve encountered on GoComics while stomping on spam postings, there’s nothing here that could possibly offend me.

I *am* offended by the note on your blog, Teresa, that suggests you should tone down your drawings.

To the GoComics staff - Please don’t censor Frog Applause. It may be edgy, but it doesn’t cross the line - I can see more suggestive things over the free airwaves.

For what it’s worth, Brooke McEldowney does some phenomenally out-of-the-box things at Pibgorn, and nary a peep from the powers that be.
