Re blog: The potty mouth in question is supposedly 11 years old. He promised to watch his language on ‘Pearls…’ several days ago. Now if Dogsniff and Gweedo can get banned for their ‘transgressions’, I have a hard time with allowing an 11 year old to talk like a long shoreman.

Is that the frilly loincloth, or the lacy one?.Most eleven year old kids around here have been swearing since they were five. Probably learned it from their parents.

Cool picture of Theda Bara! Her “Cleopatra” (1917) is unfortunately a lost film, and only twenty seconds or so of footage survive from it:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=fvwp&v=rjbzCcAzSSo&NR=1

YouTube has one of her two surviving films: “A Fool There Was,” from 1915:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PnCoK8MpHuY

This was her screen debut, in which she created her vamp character (a vamp was not a playful flirt, but a woman who exploited, drained and abandoned her male lovers). Her best-known line came from this film: “Kiss me, my fool!” (Usually repeated as “Kiss me, you fool!”)

Her real name was Theodosia Goodman, and her public image as Theda Bara was crafted and publicized for her by William Fox, of Fox Studios. The entertainment business has been manufacturing stars for almost a century now.

Since it’s really a tube sock couldn’t it more accurately be called a cache-sexe?

I used to run a mud a few years ago. The worst ones for language were always the middle school aged kids.

Ah, I love my loincloth flapping in the breezeThough to remain modest, it has to reach my kneesSuch exhilaration as it swings to and froMust be careful it doesn’t trip me, as along my way I do goWhen swinging in the trees, i have to tie it in a knotElse it gets hung up in the branches and that is not so hotThose around me just can’t believe their eyesThey’ve never seen one of such prodigious sizeSo drop your drawers, it’s fun to be so freeJust be careful your not stung by a bee.

My comment had nothing to do with religion. It had to do with a promise made to stop potty mouthing in his comments. The rest of us use words that are fit for general consumption.. He may learn to increase his vocabulary, in a good way.

Re: Blog. “Now You Are Engaged.” She looks like his MOTHER! Women frequently looked older than men of the same age during that period (1940’s-50’s?) Is it the hair? The make up? Those dowdy clothes? All of the above? Something else?
