It’s a COMIC. If everyone behaved exactly as people do in real life, the result wouldn’t be very readable or very funny.

Yesterday’s story was great. I sent it to all my contacts. I hope Walt didn’t leave with everyone else and is out wandering the streets somewhere.

Of course he probably has a policy against dating the dancers…

besides, there’s the little matter of Uncle Walt, whose nurse Gertie is supposed to be…and who is hopefully with the crowd from Corky’s who were at the show…

How come they can’t hear old Walt snoring away in the now empty, except for him, auditorium?

“Yes, Gertie, although I have moved on and am now in love with another woman, I’m willing to hire you to go on the road with me while my wife stays home. Nudge, nudge. Wink, wink. Ya’ know what I mean?”
