It seems that before joining Dick Moores to produce Gasoline Alley, Jim Scancarelli worked on Mutt & Jeff with George Breisacher for two years.
While we’re waiting for the momentum on this storyline to pick up again, I have a question that I hope some long-time fans might be able to answer for me. While reading volumes 1 and 2 of “Walt & Skeezix,” I fell in love with Walt’s mother. I don’t know how to ask this delicately, so here goes: I can only assume that Mrs. Wallet passed away as she was depicted as being quite elderly in 1921-24, at least in my interpretation. Was her death ever addressed in the strip, and if so, approximately when?
