    At’s about right, Uncle Walt!

    - – - – -

It’s a full classics update for the 10th:

Walt makes a phone call, and we learn something about the etiquette of people having to share a pay telephone, rather than everyone in creation paying for their own phone. Increasing the Alley Rangers from 3 to 11 members has left Skeezix & Co. with a problem of finding a large enough place to have meeting, now that winter is arriving.

The plot to kidnap the governor seems to be going along like clockwork, even if it appears as cuckoo as the one Gertie is resetting.

Meanwhile, Brenda seems to need a good rewinding or something, as still no sign of Basil.

Sarge is lickin’ his chops, as Slim is turning over the service station (and the Gas Bunnies) to the ol’ lech, I mean the ol’ drill sergeant while the Kid runs an errand.

Two things that I wish were terminated—Daylight Savings and the Electoral College.

Back when electric clocks had to be plugged in, I read about someone who in the fall simply turned off all the power in his house for an hour to bring his clocks to standard time.

An unexpected benefit was that the kids couldn’t watch TV during that hour and actually went outside to play.

My Dad says Daylight Saving Time is like thinking that if you cut a foot off the top end of a blanket, and sew that pierce to the bottom end, you somehow end up with a longer blanket.

People complain in the fall? Not me. Why would you complain about getting an extra hour of sleep?

I’d rather set the clock forward one hour than have to set it forward eleven hours. We still have several “REAL” clocks in the house, ones wound with a key.

I’m glad I live in Arizona so I don’t have to worry about any of this. We don’t observe DST.

The only good thing that Daylight Saving Time ever produced was a record by the singer Keith in 1967. I have yet to hear one good reason for moving the clocks twice a year. And that hippie era “for the children” bromide is most definitely NOT a good reason……

I’ve been listening to people complain about this twice a year my whole life. I got used to it about 60 years ago. Nothing to complain about.
