I tried to be positive last week. All you naysayers can say told you so. Gil to MCCC, Kaz & Kelly Kapowski motorcycling across the U.S., Marty summering at Milford Downs and Mimi holding the fort down poolside while her loyal ward Pedro runs his ever growing unethical business.
In all reality, as Lucky hangs his head Amy cheers him up by saying don t feel bad Lucky you still have me. Lucky responds you re right Amy , Im still the luckiest man alive and then they kiss. Schools out cut to Summer.
@ chipster – You are so right. These Milford fielders (?) are clueless. Not a gold glover among them. In the immortal words of Alice Kooper, “School’s out for Summer!” Cut to the Gilfather and his summer gig at MCC and Mimi’s home shenanigans with boy toy Pedro.
You know, somehow we all missed it last week. Lucky (opening of story is the 3rd baseman) showed super human range (MUT) to field a grounder at 2nd base before the bad throw (winded?). King and his Court will now go on the playdowns.
It is a home game (I looked back a few days earlier today) so I’m guessing home run, then Lucky either makes the last out to be the total goat, or he homers to win it. I’ll go with the goat.
Gil- " Mimi, yours truly, and the kids would like to take a time-out to wish everyone a Happy Memorial Day. Yes, the kids celebrate the holiday by working only a 14 hour day"
How about this. Bottom of the 7th, Milford still batting, starts to pour, field flooded, umps call the game, 7th inning wiped out because losing team didn’t conclude their at bat, score reverts back to end of 6th inning, Milford wins and Paul gets his perfect game (although only a 6 inning perfect game). How would that be for a twist! But in reality, it will just be a Lucky-caused Milford loss.
In all reality, the offical scorer John Pascoe fanticly signals Gil that Goshen batted out of order and that the batter who grounded to Lucky was not the right batter.

Another diving effort by a Milford infielder with no clue as the ball sails between his outstretched arms.

He’s loses a perfect game and they go nuts. Then he loses the no-hitter and it’s no big deal.

And the insanity continues at Mopped Up Thorp. And if you missed it yesterday, the 6th edition of the special Sunday strip was posted.

I interrupted watching a perfectly good rain delay at the French Open to read this strip.

We ALL saw it coming but some of us held out hope that Rubin would jerk the wheel away at the last second after suckering us in.

To cheer them up, the whole team gets lucky as Amy and the rest of the girls’ team “flashes” them coming off the field.

Wake up, Luck! Your teammate is leaving P2 to sac-tap you if you don’t get your head back in the game.

After the ball sails over the fence, Gil protests the game because the batter used too much pine tar. The umpire calls the batter out. Mayhem ensues.

Not Lucky’s fault. Gil & Kaz jinxed it!
