Gabby, give it up. Kate’s not going to give you any bills. If she does it’ll be one with Washington on it.

Is Franklin still on the 50 cent piece? I know, not a president but I haven’t seen one in a long time.

Maybe they can get M. Night Shyamalan to make a movie of this….

Actually, it is Washington’s birthday, you know the first President of the USA.

I think the Mint is just coining half-dollars for collectors. The few I see are pre-2000.

There’s plenty of President’s Day sales out there.

I assume Gabby means two dollar bills, since she includes them with Jacksons ($20) and Grants ($50). When is the last time you saw a $2 bill in circulation? I got one from the bank a few years ago and later left it for part of a tip; the waitress acted like I’d left her a gold nugget or something; she was thrilled.

I guess one can get $2 bills easy enough but no one seems to want to use them. Of course there are always the stories of businesses thinking that they are “funny money” and calling the police (not sure how true any of those stories are, however).

True story. A man named Bill kept running in to the same guy at a coffee shop. Even though Bill soon learned to remember his name (Richard), the other man could never remember Bill’s name. After another frustrating encounter, Bill pulled out a $1 bill and said: “My name is Bill! Just like this dollar bill!” Next time they met, Richard walked up and with a big grin said: “Why, Hello George!

In college I worked as a bank teller. One day someone came in with a $10000 bill (with picture of Salmon P. Chase). I think it came as an inheritance or something. We weren’t allowed to keep it in circulation but had to send it to the Treasury.
