There was a French class in my high school, but I took Spanish instead… it was a breeze once you get the hang of it. I only learned French from — if anyone remembers it — “Muzzy” when I was Heart’s age or younger.

I’m impressed! I didn’t find any mistake in french.

I’m french myself… 10/10 for Heart.

Je ne parlez pas Francais. Those in the know say Heart is a bright girl, and I agree.

I studied French in high school. I lived near Canada. I also found out that Canadian French can be as different from European French as US English is from Brit English. Then I found myself surrounded by Spanish speaking people. So what do I do now? Study German with Duolingo.

I live in Quebec. Heart’s French is without error, as others have already mentioned. Its also nice to see “La langue de Molière” in a comic strip like this for once!

For a minute, I thought that Gocomics put up the comic in a different language. Good thing I glanced at the last panel.

Jack Benny was visiting Paris and wanted to be able to introduce himself in French. He asked the waiter (to whom Jack had just given a stingy tip) how to say, “I am Jack Benny, star of stage, screen and television.” The waiter said, “Je suis Jack Benny. Je conduis un camion à ordures.”

How about some Cajun French? The local paper used to print a story in French each week.

I had two years of French and one of Latin. Loved my French teacher. Her previous job was truck driver… ☺

When I was learning French (Canada) in high school from Grades 7 to 9, I wished they had started out at a basic level so we would learn it better. Now there are French Emergence being taught in elementary schools here in Canada.

Think French is difficult? Try Gaelic.

I’m missing the younger Heart!

Do Americans learn French in school? I thought it would be Spanish.
