I made sure I let my son have freedom as a child, and he never abused it (but came close several times). He grew up responsible, well mannered and educated.
The dad in âHOTC 1.0â was depicted as absentee and kind of a deadbeat, but Iâm trying to forget that and keep an open mind to HOTC 2.0âs version of Heartâs dad. The fact he is actually doing something with Heart is a significant change. I think theyâre going to have a heart-to-heart talk over the next few days (pardon the pun).
This really is a thing today, where Millenial and Gen Z parents will have been raised by strict Boomers and Gen X, so theyâll want to do the opposite and just let their kids do whatever. The problem is, they donât let then just muck around in the bush (which comprised 99% of my childhood) and instead let them muck around on social media and technology, which is in fact even more dangerous and much less fun.

Your mom and not grandmother or grandma. Must not have a very close relationship. Just because Dad is absent doesnât mean grandparents have to be.
