Well, this strip certainly progressed the overall plot.
Depends on the engine. The 6 might get 15mpg on the highway. The ~ 400 cubic inch V-8 is single digit all the way.
Besides the poor efficiency, those old cars need leaded gas and no alcohol in it unless the fuel plumbing is all metal.
