Hospital shows are funny.
Mots if the stuff they show doctors doing is done by nurses in real life.
and who has time to sit , in patients rooms like that?
This must be payback for when we watch police dramas....
HAHAHAHAHAH
HILARIOUS!
oh my god, THIS! All my friends think my life is like Scrubs! When I tell them stuff about work, they’re like “but that’s not how they do it on scrubs??” – well duh!
Tegm, I don’t even talk work with people just for that reason. Plus I don’t watch the medical shows – I tend to be too critical and point out the blatant errors – irritates my wife.
@David_42I would watch a show of some computer programmer tracking down an error in thousands of lines of code.
I try to keep my viewing to shows where I can learn something. for example: “Common Law”, yes; “Falling Skies”, no. I think finding pointer errors in “c” code can be interesting simply by the writers’ successful efforts in exactly describing the problem, whether or not the viewer is familiar with programming.. No matter how dreary the show, when someone manages to really capture the truth in a line, I think it can be a visceral experience for a good percentage of the audience. If a memory error can bring on dread in a programmer, the same emotion can be brought out in the audience.
I just started the nursing program and yes I was one of those"gullible saps" that believed that some of the stuff in medical shows were accurate to some extent and once I started,… man was I shellshocked, its a whole lot harder then they play it out to be

And the cops shows drive law enforcement wild because juries think life is all CSI.

Military people have been experiencing this for years. Navy life isn’t “Top Gun” or “Crimson Tide”. Hell, it’s not even “McHale’s Navy”.

It is amazing (and scary) how many people put too much faith on the ‘knowledge’ expressed in TV shows.

I laughed hysterically through “Kindergarten Cop” and many other movies/tv shows about teachers.
