I remember Joe being saved by his bullet-proof vest when he was shot. I forgot about the medallion.

Actually, I kinda liked it better when the Medallion was just this Mysterious Gift from Mysterious People who somehow Knew it would Save His Life.
Seeing that there were Real People involved kinda spoils the illusion. Like finding out Santa Claus is really your Dad. The illusion was more fun.

So if anyone wants to check it out, the original story ran from 11-26-09 through 12-12-09. Unfortunately, some of the strips run during that timeframe don’t seem to be available gocomics.
