Positive but wrong. A common thing.

    (And not just in politics.)

The oldies are still goodies, some of the sly comments that made it by the censors: There was a homosexual reference, workplace sexual harassment, and reference unwanted pregnancy in some of the Betty Boop cartoons.

It was those censors of the day that made Tweety change colors from pink to Yellow. They couldn’t abide by an apparent naked bird so had Bob Clampett and company cover him in yellow feathers.

Well, that provides us a little insight into Dot’s driving style: she’s hyper competitive.

Tweety has always been male, except for a recent “retooling” where he was placed as a female in some marketing gimmick. I’m surprised Joe doesn’t remember the short where Sylvester disguises his finger as a female bird to attract Tweety. “I thought i taw a [wolf whistle]!”

I had the original Tweety cartoon on VHS when I was a kid, and he was indeed pink, I think it was to imply that his feathers hadn’t grown in yet. In later cartoons he was made yellow because he was supposed to be an adult bird, and it IS made pretty clear that Tweety is indeed male.

“There goes the naked genius now. So here’s what we’re gonna do…”

    “And furthermore…”

By the way, it’s “Tweetie Pie”, not “Bird”.
