Wonder if Robb reads the comments here. Funding was a issue that generated a long thread/discussion here when the Fire and Police departments first went cone-to-cone.

Carla is a wonderful character. She always adds an unexpected twist.

slightly OT: best thing i ever saw was a K-9 cop in a Baskin-Robbins parking lot, on a scorcher of a summer day, treating his partner with a double dip of vanilla. looked like the server had shoved some might fat scoops onto that cone! absolutely happy doggo!

Are those donations specifically for this? I’d hope my VFD donations go to equipment/training, not something as transient/frivolous as ice cream :^(

And I (or ???) might’ve pointed this out previously, but I thought the point of the ice cream was to improve relations between the cops and the community, whereas firefighters presumably don’t have a problem with that…

Around here the police and fire departments are set up totally different from each other.

Our police department is a county department (except some small areas that are incorporated villages or cities and have their own police departments).

Our fire departments are volunteer and separately from each local community – though sometimes 2 communities will have a joint department.
