Ann: "If you're looking for your boyfriend, he's running an errand for me" Toni: "An errand?" Ann: "Yes. So unless you intent to order something, I see no need for you to be here, Miss Daytona" Toni: "I see. then maybe I'll try the grand slam" Ann: "You'd need to go to Denny's for that, dear" Toni: "No. I think I could do that here"

Looks like “an eyefull” may get a mouthful. Slammee – meet the slammer!

Ann sure has taken control of Brad. When she hollers, JUMP! He probably asks, how high? Why am I reminded of that old 60’s song, “I’m Your Puppet?”/// I don’t think that the upper management will take too kindly to her sending Brad to do her personal errands on company time. This might just be enough to either get her terminated or reprimanded. /// Ann suggesting to Toni that she leave unless she is ordering can also play into Toni’s hands. She should buy a soft drink and sit there and nurse it and at the same time clock how long Brad is off the premises. I think Toni can be just as cunning as Ms Awful!

Cat fight???….[hehe]
mojitobaby about 13 years ago
I love Ann’s sideways look – she really thinks she just won.
Dabit about 13 years ago
Tony might risk her own job over this run in about to happen.
flashman.ace about 13 years ago
Yeah, and telling them to piss off before they can open their wallet is what you’d expect from a great manager who’s just trying to do her job, becasue everyone loves to be told to get the hell out unless you’re gonna spend money – it’s so conducive to a great dining experience! Oh, the horror of all those family members and friends of employees who just show up and expect to buy food! Where the hell do they get off, cluttering up a nice neat rsetaurant with their ordering?
bikenboatn about 13 years ago
Whaddya bet Toni’s just trying to egg Ann into doing something, while TJ is in the next booth making a video of the whole thing.
Chas60 about 13 years ago
Go for it Toni, make sure to touch all the bases!
ZacBSM about 13 years ago
Yep – Toni will do the Grand Slam right in Ann’s face! Too bad the antagonist did not catch on – too busy thinking she’s won the upmanship.
Ottodesu about 13 years ago
Anne really has the “hospitality industry” thing down pat, hasn’t she?
ComicLaff about 13 years ago
Oh boy, girl fight!!
Sisyphos about 13 years ago
Arrogant Annie had best watch her back. “Miss Daytona” will make mincemeat of her—just in time for a nice, holiday pie!
DockoftheBay about 13 years ago
Beware Toni, Ann is a psychopath and you are a public employee during a time of drastic government cutbacks,
Don’t do anything stupid or you and Brad will be both out of work.
mojitobaby about 13 years ago
I think clyde just implied everyone who’s English or Australian is gay.
Talker123 about 13 years ago
Way to go Toni. Your man and that’s the way it is!
mike0993 about 13 years ago
I wonder if Toni has some kind of official backup. That past threat spelled official trouble.
flangben about 13 years ago
So now Toni is NOT banned from Brad’s work? She can stay as long as she orders something? If Brad gets caught running an errand on company time, Ann will deny she told him to do so.Meanwhile, though Toni is showing dedication to Brad, Toni should NOT be interfering in his work. And why would TJ push Toni to do so — is TJ trying to cause a blow-up between Toni and Brad?
DayoftheDead about 13 years ago
I am bored with this too. Either punch her in the face or “Rock Brads World” and seal the deal. Dang its like walking in on a woman watching a soap opera….same thing going on as was a year ago. (an exaggeration but you get the point). Move the story along for cripes sake.

37 Comments (make that 38). Do you have to lose sleep just to see who’ll comment first on this strip instead waiting until sunrisre (like me?).
diodonofrio about 13 years ago
I have a feeling today will be Brad’s last day at Weenie World!

When yeilded PROPERLY – aluminum HAS a WONDERFUL “PING” sound to it!
Chuck373 about 13 years ago
Actually, Ann is behaving professionally and Toni is behaving pugnatiously. Unless Toni is attempting to be arrested for assault, I see no reason for her to be there. Unless, by Grand Slam, she has something totally different and non-violent in mind. Ann has given her no reason to behave violently. Perhaps Toni decided that she would like to confront Ann, but not to actually beat her up and end up in jail as TJ seemed to advise.
mojitobaby about 13 years ago
Yep, clydefrog/jughead has a not-so-hidden homophobic thing going on. If you recall, coastersfather on comics.com really got nasty about it and let it all hang out, but it seems he’s not using as many sockpuppets on this site.
You didn’t think all that speculation on who’s really gay and who isn’t was just idle chatter, didja? But who knew he he kept insisting Quill was gay simply because he’s Australian?

Knock Down, Drag Out..\\//_
Chuck373 about 13 years ago
It’s interesting that Ann refererred to Brad as “boyfriend” and not “Brad” to Toni. It was like saying, “I’ve got your boyfriend doing personal favors for me.” That seems designed to irritate.
Chuck373 about 13 years ago
Also, did Brad ever get to mention that Toni is his girlfriend? I believe that Ann stopped his explanation before he actually came out and said the word “girlfriend”. Therefore, her assumption that they are boyfriend and girlfriend can only be from their behavior together at his workplace. See any reason for Ann to be miffed about Toni’s repeated interruptions of Brad on the job? Perhaps were all in for a surprise as Ann comes out as a total professional and all of our cast members end up with egg on their face.
ajnotales about 13 years ago
so will t’morrow tell the tale, or will Greg slip off into yet ANOTHER storyline, leaving this unresolved (like the other 27 spinning lines)? hmmmm?

Annie might enjoy being grandslamed.

One of the inside jokes is that ALL of American business is totalitarian…something that could only happen in a democracy that allows corporations to rule citizens as slaves for about enough to buy two gallons of gas per hour…GOTP delenda est…

I hope TJ is getting ready to torch the place.
Kirk Sinclair about 13 years ago
It really is a two-fer today – the fight building up in the strip, and the (stoopid and tedious) fights between the commenters on this thread. Really.:I’d like to know what’s in Toni’s head as to a plan.
ACGND about 13 years ago
MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEOW!
I must admit, I like where this is going.=)
LiviaBay about 13 years ago
Yeah….only she’s wasting time having Brad run her personal errands; instead of doing his job.
Dragongirl2319 about 13 years ago
(Randomness) Why is everybody pale now?! Last week they were nice and tan but now? It’s like they all turned into vampires.
Kirk Sinclair about 13 years ago
@Dragongirl2319 – flourescent lighting and it’s autumn.
tegm about 13 years ago
It’s kind of sad that the perception of a woman in a position of power is necessarily a b*tch, who needs to be ‘set straight.’
Michelle Morris about 13 years ago
KA-PLAM!
jebjayman about 13 years ago
There will be no catfight. Toni knows she’d be in the wrong to initiate this; but oh, would the evil one deserve a body-slam! .
Kydex29 about 13 years ago
Happy employees are effective employees. My wife was telling me how in some establishments they actually give employees time for “personal recreation” with their better half after lunch, since it increases productivity.
Kirk Sinclair about 13 years ago
@Dragongirl2319 – I just figured from the skin tones at Brad’s place that the lighting was flourescent there. It will be telling once these characters get outside (like they’re real people…)

She may be on duty… light brown jacket (even without an emblem/name) perhaps performing a code inspection, as someone suggested earlier… no appointments needed.

I like the persons comment of TJ getting it all on vidio. Good idea and can’t wait till tomorrow. Why do we have to have people on comic strip make vulgar comments. Small minds I guess have to me that way to communicate. So sorry for them not much of a live. But sure do enjoy most of the comments.
Pipe Tobacco about 13 years ago
This is interesting on a few different levels. I hope (and suspect) that with TJ involved, the end result will NOT be violence, but a cleaver trick (created by TJ & Toni) that leads to BRAD discovering the Eiffel issue for himself….. or at the very least… some fun hijinks in the story arc. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++Anyone here wonder what (if anything) would happen if somehow Dirk returned to the comic here…. and began to pursue Eiffel? That could lead to a whole host of interesting issues.
LinTX about 13 years ago
Once again Ann uses the tactic of turning her back to those she’s talking to (as in: I’m too important to have to face those I’m talking to, or to wait for their reply before leaving).
Still trying to figure out this Luann weather. We go one week from miniskirts and short sleeves to long sleeves and coats this week.
Good comments from Sideshow Starlet, Chuck 373, and BikeNBoatN (but scary avatar image).

treered about 13 years ago
“if you’re looking…”, where did she learn to treat customers that way? and yes, Toni is a “customer”, anyone who walks through the door should be treated properly, like “how may I help you?”… if this is a franchise, one call to corporate should be all that’s needed…
Popeyesforearm about 13 years ago
Now that’s funny.
wolfmanjaq about 13 years ago
Geez this comic strip has come a long way…graphicallly and in it’s writing! Great stuff!
marvee about 13 years ago
We already know there won’t be a physical fight. So I’m looking forward to seeing what Toni means by Grand Slam. Some objectional comments must have been taken off by the time I got here, 14 hours after the first comment.

First, Ann and Tony are going to get into it. Brad will show up and try to break it up and the whole ting will morph into a three-way right there on the floor at Weenie World.
Tinyman about 13 years ago
I know the feeling. Iworked at a Burger king for 6 years until the owner shut it down and I took my lumps too cause it paid the rent. At least Brad has someone to back him up. Go for the Grandslam and I will cheer Toni on. If this was real life I would Join Toni too. :):)
dfowensby about 13 years ago
remember: toni passed the FF quals. that includes the 200lb dead-weight tote test. grand slam is a literal statement, i’d be willing to bet.
