She’ll either be the equivalent of a photobomber, ruining the crowd shot with her obvious “acting”, or she’ll be left on the cutting room floor.

Is this still the same storyline that Evans admitted was crap?

Crystal has developed into one of the best characters in this strip. Her relationship with Knute and quiet sarcasm that goes way over Tiffany’s head are hilarious

FYI, the poster who claims Ann Eiffel is “Luann’s Zit” just happens to have an account that was created the same day that LZ also appeared and posted that little date rape fantasy. The LZ comments are gone – which is what happens when you change your account name. So I’d be on the lookout for misdirection. There’s more than one sockpuppet account out there.

Crystal runs on sarcasm, rarely if ever understood by such a one as Tiffany. It is a workable defense mechanism for an intelligent student saddled with a leech-like exponent of self-puffery. And it makes an effective contrast, as well, for whomsoever may care….

I got that you were kidding, but there are a lot of idiots out there who think they’re toys..Don’t worry too much about eye damage from your experience – the light emitted from most laser diodes sold in this country is fairly low-powered, and there’s no evidence of any permanent retinal injury from them. While you can get afterimage similar to flashbulb exposure, glare and flashblindedness, and there are some cases with symptoms that have persisted for up to a few days, you’re probably more at risk for using one near police, who might mistake it for a gun sight.

Why does Crystal even hang out with Tiffany? Most of the time she is just subtly ripping on her.

What’s to envy? It’s Tiffany’s egomania that Crystal like to poke at, not Crystal’s legitimate accomplishments large or small. Tiffany’s problem is that she blows everything way out of proportion and measures everything by how it affects her.

For all that Tiff is carried away by the delusions of grandeur, at least she has a positive attitude. Crystal is typically being negative. They say you can tell a lot about a person by the company they keep, Crystal, if you’re so down on Tiff, what’s that say about you?

Agh!! Laser-pointer???!! So that’s who’s been doing that! She’s gonna get a lapful of my popcorn and soda if she does that again! LOLOh, wait…no, that’d be ten bucks wasted….never mind, I’ll just slap her.

It’s amazing how Crystal hangs around with her. But I guess Tiffany provides her with hours of sit-com like entertainment.

Crystal is the Reality Counterpoint to Tiffany’s Fantasy. Not that Tiffany is bright enough to notice…

NNo – I disagree. Crystal doesn’t seem at all jealous. She is just way too smart to buy into Tiffany’s constant self-adulation. She is the stabilizing truth that keeps the dumb twit from flying right off into the stratosphere!Crystal is also very confident – she doesn’t envy Tiff for a nanosecond.

I’d love for this strip to get interesting, what’s going on with TJ and Ann? What about Ox?

Tiff must have painted her eyebrows on the top of her forehead. Probably an attempt to compensate for having plucked them so much they stopped growing back.

As for the laser pointer, let’s not forget that she’s planning on pointing at the movie screen. Nobody’s going to be injured, except for Tiffany herself when the audience discovers that she’s shining a laser pointer over the movie they paid to see.

Sounds pretty exciting! I’m happy for TIffany. She knows she wants to work in entertainment, so she’s working her way up, and already has been involved in the filmmaking process even though she’s a teen and even though it’s a small role. Ad mit it, if you were in a crowd scene in a blockbuster film, wouldn’t you be excited and want to show your friends? It’s too bad she doesn’t have any supportive friends or people in her life who care about her. Meanwhile, Luann halfheartedly mopes, “I guess I could go to Julliard or whatever, I dunno…” without actually doing anything or showing real interest. Tiffany is labeled evil for actually working to pursue her goals rather than sullenly shuffling through life with no motivation, like you’re apparently supposed to.

In spite of your comment in Panel #2, Tiffany, I’d miss you. You provide a lot of unintentional comedy with your narcissistic views and remarks. And Crystal provides a lot of wisecrack, dry remarks as straight gal that goes right over your head. So, yeah, I’d miss you… and Crystal, too..Won’t happen, but I’d like to see you two double date at the theater with Knute & Leslie. Just to be clear, you and Leslie with Crystal & Knute – we don’t want to get back into the gay area that raises so much lifestyle speculation.

No they’re not. Laser pointers can cause serious trouble for the actors on stage, and it’s highly possible to get hurt.

You’re not allowed to bring laser pointers into the movie theater, Tiff, and I will throw you out if you even try.

I love how Crystal comes up with great jabs under her breath!-I’ve never thought about rude people bringing laser pointers to disrupt public events …awful!

Okay TWO things:

1) Tiffany dear, SOMEONE needs to TEACH You the concept of “sarcasm”.

As I recall the Vomitorium was where after feasting some more they’d vomit it up so that they could go back and engorge themselves again and again.

What you’re “recalling” is a complete myth – they never existed. Please, don’t believe whatever you hear about historical “facts” without doing some research before you repeat them. Take a Latin class or study Roman history – a good teacher of either would quickly correct that misconception.

No kidding – does it sound like I’ve never been on a set before? Of course crowd extras are culled if they bomb the take, but do you really think Greg would pass up a chance to humiliate Tiffany’s over-engorged pride by sticking to what would realistically happen? I think her ending up on the cutting room floor won’t be enough of a take-down, I predict utter humiliation of some kind.

Repost your comment leaving out the words “…like you…” and everything after “twits.” and you have the perfect description of Twit-ffany. She’s obnoxious. She’s self-absorbed. And it’s astounding that Crystal can bear to be around her. And the funniest thing about the movie will be that she probably won’t even be able to recognize herself in the crowd scene. She’ll be just one blonde out of about a thousand.

Thats how I see it also. I also foresee her with a Phd…lol…

the only chance of Tiffany’s friends seeing her actually star in a movie scene involves them waiting until they’re 18, and can go to the “xxx” section at a vid store and rent it, lol……

Tiffany is a conceited, arrogant, self centered twit that thinks the world revolves around her. Crystal, in her goth sarcastic way is telling her that she is no big deal. My neices are in a couple of Hollywood movies, including a couple of solo shots. The couldn’t care less about it, but Tiffany is absolutly focused only on her own elevation.

Here is my earnest desire for a story arc. Put these characters in a HS drama class together. Introduce another (minor) character: a bizzarre drama teacher. I recall with favor the arc where Tiffany and Luann made common cause as volleyball teammates. Put them in a milieu where they are natural cut-throat rivals, but they could again join forces eventually, against a mutual foe. That is all.

Seems to me that a friend who spends her time making snide remarks that are aimed over my head might be smarter than me, might be cooler than me, but certainly is a lesser human being. Who would do that – who would be that mean? If Crystal doesn’t like Tiffany, she should stop hanging around with her. Amusing yourself at someone else’s expense – someone who thinks you are her friend – is a d!ck move. If my daughter behaved that way I’d be ashamed of her.

The ‘friends’ cliques in this comic are interesting. In what high school would a ‘cheerleader blonde’ type spend many hours with a ‘goth chic’ type?! That didn’t happen in my high school… Extremely polarized!!

Though I can see the Luann clique. Kind of the underdogs…

I feel sad reading this strip.

I’m tired of the constant knock-down that I know is going to happen to Tiffany. She’s the only one in the strip who suffers any consequences for her actions, and those consequences would put anyone else under the bus, or to move out of town. Tiffany is the only one who is sincerely concerned about her own future, more so than Saint Delta.

If Luann were in the movie, she’d be top billing and everyone would still applaud her as she would kick Tiffany in the teeth for being in the same room/building/small town as she. Just like the “West Side Story” arc.

Oh, and Luann would still be running the library, single-handedly with Gunther doing the grunt work, and he’d still be head over heels for her. The Gunther/Rosa story line is just like the Gunther/Bernice story line. Nothing ever changes here. It’s a zombie strip with the original artist and writer. The work of Brad becoming a fire fighter was probably the last we will see of memorable (in a good way) arcs.

I hope the police were able to find the moron that did that!
