Where’s the lava lamp?

… and now that floor has hardened into igneous rock. They’re never going to be able to rearrange the furniture.

A great joke, hilarious and totally original to me! “Mannequin” does that a lot.

It seemed kind of intrusive at the time. We now know it’s extrusive.

At least it was more of a pahoehoe lava.

Aa can be really rough (even painful) to walk on (with bare feet anyway).

I think this is based on a childhood meme of making one’s way across the living room by leaping on the furniture “because the floor is lava”. I learned of this recently. In my childhood, plain ol’ flood waters were a good enough excuse. Mom hated that game.

So what is it now? Water? Or is that just a VERY deep-pile rug? Or are we ankle deep in, ah, whatever?

Boy, I’d kill for a floor like that now. Think of all the time you’d save not having to vacuum. Probably be a pretty good security system, too.

I remember that craze. A few years ago, lava floors were really hot. Now people take them with a grain of basalt.
