A September 5 article in THE NEW YORK TIMES detailed the public backlash over the new IKEA catalog, of all things. The problem? They replaced their longtime font with the crappy one I'm using here. Type Heads are now petitioning the mammoth furniture corporation to "get rid of Verdana." Crowd: What do we want? FUTURA! When do we want it? NOW! TO KERN AND PROTECT We may need a Federal investigation for a typographical crime of this magnitude. Man: They sent that catalog to damn near everyone. We are all victims. The lesson: if you can't offend America's moral sensibilities, shoot for aesthetics! Man: These torture memos were written in COMIC SANS! Crowd: PROSECUTE!
