Always wondered why people have things etched on their body that they wouldn’t hang on their living room wall – excluding those with velvet Elvis ‘paintings’
I have to admit that this is one of the few remaining prejudices I have. I tend to think negatively of people who are heavily tattooed and pierced. It defies rational sense. I’ve gotten over judging people on their looks in other areas.
However, I now know several people personally who fit this description. It’s working and I am getting over it.
And this is why I thank God for the life that I have led. I’ve been all over the world, met all kinds of people and have been put in all kinds of situations. It has been a fantastic education, and the number of people that I characterize as “those” people, has shrunk to nearly zero.
My sister and I were raised almost identically. Unlike me, she’s lived in the same neighborhood, had the same friends and did the same things for all of her life. Our political views are 180 degrees apart. Ironically, as a born introvert, I look outwards. She’s a born extrovert but she looks inward.
I feel confident and don’t fear other people (unless they are pointing weapons at me – that HAS happened). She lives in fear and believes other people are out to get her.
We do love each other and I still have the ability to make her laugh.

Wondering if the stories last longer the older you get, you know, and the skin sags more and more.

There was a psych article a couple of decades ago that stated that people who had numerous tattoos had self esteem issues
