When my daughter was little she noticed that Santa had the same kind of wrapping paper as we did. That never happened again.

Santa is a master forger which is why she doesn’t leave her checkbook laying about on Christmas Eve.

This morning my son asked us to not use Santa wrapping paper for gifts to our grandson. Only Santa uses Santa paper, apparently from an old rule I had when our kids were growing up – I completely forgot that!

That’s Yuletide Cursive. There was a time when we were all taught to use it on our Christmas cards. :)

As time goes by, the kid is going to start putting two and two together and will figure out the truth regarding Santa just like most of us have.

We all knew that but smart kids do not ask questions about who actually put those presents under the tree.

When my son started getting suspicious, I was able to extend it a few more years by having a friend or neighbor fill out the gift tags. And there was the Christmas Eve Santa lost one of his sleigh bells, as he delivered all of the presents while we were at the grandparents. I don’t think my son ever quite figured that one out.

My cursive writing hasn’t changed since high school. It looks a lot like my aunt’s — my mom’s twin!

My mom would cut up the previous year’s cards and have us write our names, and from Santa on the backs. She said Santa was busy and didn’t have time to make all those gift tags. I had an angel card, and I kept it for about 3 years before it disappeared.
