Translation: “Who will guard the guards themselves?” or “Who will watch the watchmen?”.

Meanwhile, someone’s robbing the store.

Who watches the watchers?

On the news and in the L.A. Times this week there were several stories about burglars hiding surveillance cameras to watch the houses they intend to burgle, presumably to find out when the houses were empty … and some of them were caught planting them by the houses’ own cameras.

Everybody is watching everybody, and nobody seems to care.

ARE YOU LOOKING AT ME?!

There must be a cross-eyed security guard on duty.

In Europe, cameras are everywhere. They use them for more than just surveillance. They are used to apply tolls to your car as you drive by and to tell you what level, aisle and slot you parked your car on at the mall.

I don’t mind being spied on when out in public. However, I do mind the intrusions into my house. I do not have one of those self-planted bugs like Alexa.

I am very careful where I roam on the internet. I expect no privacy there.

Which, naturally, means they are missing everything else that’s happening around them. Typical screw-up.

Who watches the people counting the votes?

Moderately redundant.
