People who say “any time would be better than this” seem to be ignorant of essentially all history, and not particularly shrewd about prehistory.

The name of the strip makes the last panel funnier.

Did the Black Death affect the US as much as as it did mainland Europe ?

Hopefully he isn’t bringing back the Black Death or the misnamed Spanish Flu with him.

Hey, Monty, check the “Preferences” setting on that watch.

Watch him bring something back to the present and be Patient Zero in a new plague.

I take it that either Monty is very ignorant of history or the target date is generated by some random number generator.

He’s getting a good lesson in how much better off we are. We have highly effective masks (when worn properly), tests for the disease (even if only 80% accurate) and know how to prevent the spread of the disease. Unfortunately, there is still no cure for willful ignorance.

Things are starting to look better here.
