    At this point you can either get some exercise and go on a diet or throw the scale away and never weigh yourself again. In the second case you will also need to get sturdier furniture.

    My husband and I have a clinic type balance scale. On the rare occasions that I use this scale, I am very careful to return the balance weights to zero. My true weight must never be known, to my husband.
