I was once at a picnic where they had some field games for entertainment. One of them was the frying-pan toss. Our host was a carpenter, and a lot of his buddies were, too. They all had forearms that looked like most people’s thighs, so I knew there was no way I was gonna outmuscle them. So I arranged to go last. I put my knowledge of physics and geometry to use by starting out about 5 feet behind the line, approaching it while doing a complete 360° body whirl, holding my arm at maximum extension, and flinging the frying pan at a 45° upward angle for max distance. That did it.
Afterwards, I watched all of them practicing using the same technique, and every one of them could throw it at least 15 feet farther than I had. Too late.
Hiding and cowering are both a good survival techniques, especially in mass shootings. We had two here in California in the last two days. It’s a shame we have to teach such techniques to our schoolchildren.
Sorry, but combat robots have more imaginative names than than just stating their weapons. If you turn on Battlebots, they have names like Minotaur and Tombstone, not “Drum Spinner” and “Horizontal Bar Spinner”.
Does anybody remember if E.B. is a remodelled version of the robot from Jim Meddick’s previous comic strip, which initially moved in with Monty, if I remember correctly?

Maybe something like that would work for EB.

EB phone Home.

Fight or flight? . . . Hmmmm. I’d have to take the flight option. Then hiding and cowering, EB could win this if he outlasts all the others.

Ah, the perils of having the only bot which has achieved self-awareness…

The little pincher after EB is hysterical, after those other monsters.

The color commentary is half the show! —Maybe even more than half.
How adroitly they’ve turned E.B.’s sheer terror into brilliant strategy….
