King Kong vs Godzilla, nice.

Well, the negative space isn’t all that interesting, but then neither is Nancy.

I think the joke in today’s comic is way too high brow to be funny. I don’t see anything in the first girl’s background drawing that is interesting, and the background of Nancy holding two pencils instead of one, and Nancy wearing a French artist’s chapeau is actually interesting contrary to what she says.

Someone has a high opinion of herself.

Nancy has a point.

Roy Lichtenstein went into the complexity of figure – ground in comics. But he never had the commentary of a Nancy.

Is this also a clue to Olivia’s real identity? Because we all know that angel in panel one was not a picture of our Nancy!

Now that I have read the comments, I can finally understand. I did look at the negative space for a good long while to no avail before I read the comments.

This one was tough for me today. I think at least for my miniscule abilities/senses…. I needed Olivia to give me a bit more help by making Godzilla and King Kong a bit more obvious. I am glad the comments helped me though.

You could think of Nancy and several of the other characters as negative space. Not in the sense of unoccupied space but space occupied by negativity.
