Now if all these dogs are behaving like little angels, the mail carrier need have no fear. I especially like the dog with the flapping wings on the far right (I’m sure there’s no political meaning at all; just needed to be there for logistics reasons.) All the dogs are almost as cute as Wileybears. Almost…
What’s with the dude in the middle without the halo? He kind of looks like a horse….is there a deeper story here? Seriously, even the guys way in back have halos….
Too bad Go-Comics don’t carry The Farside comics. My favorite dog one is “Dogs Commuting to Work”. A bus is driving along and it’s full of dogs all dressed up and every one of them has their head out the windows.
If all the dogs are now angels, the mailman should have nothing to fear — unless he’s allergic to them. Wait — do allergies follow us into heaven? I guess it depends on the will of the creator (that is, the cartoonist).
I have known several letter carriers in my life. Every one of them had been bitten at least once. They all carried small cans of pepper spray in their mailbags if they had a walking route, or in a pocket if they had either a mounted-driving a truck- or park and loop-drive a truck, then park it and do one or 2 blocks on foot, and repeat(about 1/2 of the kids in my HS class wound up working for the Post Office as either clerks or carriers in several different offices. Where I grew up working for the PO was the best paying job around if you did not go to college)Having known these people for over 40 years now I have listened to all their stories. The carriers all told me that small dogs"Oh, its OK, he never bites" from the owner just before the dog latched onto an ankle or large dogs"hes so calm, he won’t bite" just before the dog jumps on you , knocks you on your butt and proceeds to bite your arm. I have heard the stories and seen the scars. Having gone to some union picnic’s-one of my sisters also works at the PO-I know about 60 postal workers and whenever carriers get together they talk about dogs that bite-which is almost all of them. So, yes, I can easily see where the caption would be right, that would be a letter carriers hell

My mail lady loves dogs, and they love her. (Or it may be just the biscuits she always carries for them?)

My dog sounds ferocious when the mail is delivered. Of course they all know what she wants is to be petted as they’ve done it plenty of times.

Oh, wait, maybe I get it! That’s the one that’s going to bite him in the but?
BillWa almost 10 years ago
When they get to know him they’ll be fine.

Cute doggies do go to heaven, they just don’t spend their time waiting for a new mailman to show up at the gate!

It’s spelled DOG? All of these thousands of years we humans have been spelling it backwards…
