I like the dogs and cats being in heaven, but I challenge you to find any religious authority in the western world who truly goes along with that. They say animals don’t have souls. They can also use the “since we can’t teach them about religion, they can’t believe in it, so therefore they are shut out of it.” Through Twain’s day, they also said that since animals “don’t have the moral sense,” they couldn’t go to any afterlife.
In the animated Dilbert series, Dilbert gets hired in an ideal high tech company. He brings up the idea of a marketing department; a crack in the foundation occurs. In the end, the whole place crashes down.
My mom always said when she got to heaven, all her dogs would be there waiting for her. I’ll be looking for my cat as well. Otherwise, it won’t be heaven.
“See’s”? Product placement in Non Sequitur? Although I had to google it to find out if that was a real brand.
I notice that the humans and dogs have wings, but the cat apparently doesn’t. Is that because cats would prefer to chase winged creatures than have wings themselves?
I do so like when someone use one of the tropes of the trade. In this case views of “Heaven” making everyone have wings and halos and stuff. Fun to talk about such myths. Especially with those who should know better about their own religion. I have studied many and that is where you start seeing patterns. Along with history which aids putting more pieces together. My only place to comment on such things safely.
Once upon a time a cave man killed a (beast…enemy…jerk cave dweller… take your pick or make your pick) with a “Magic rock” – he was in awe by the other cave dwellers. They asked him to protect them with his “Magic Rock”..He thought a bit and said "Yeah sure just build me a house to worship my “Magic”and feed me and I will give you comfort and peace….and thus Religion was born and the Jimmy Swaggart crusades…not to mention all the others too numerous to mention. or remember.

I see Homer and his dog are there, on the left sitting on the clouds. It’s about time for another Homer arc.

If animals are not allowed in heaven, how will “the lion live peacefully along with the sheep, and eat grass”, or something like that.

Mad magazine and See’s candies, it must be heaven. Where did you put the Rocky Road ice cream?

I would rather believe in a Heaven populated with the dogs who were kind, nurturing and who loved me than with an X who didn’t.
