Who actually goes by the sell-by date? I’ve had milk go bad long before the date on the carton, and I’ve had meat that was still good a week after the date on the package.
Those dates are actually arbitrary. No one has ever researched the length of time that food in cans expires, for example. And you don’t need dates for donuts except to show that they are day-old…..

A lot of food gets wasted because a lot of people don’t understand the difference between a sell-by date and the actual eat-by date
It’s not like the manufacturer flips a switch at midnight making all of their product suddenly go bad all at once
Keep it cold and keep it sealed, temperature and air exposure are much more important than the date
