One of those interesting coincidences. Beethoven in today’s Peanuts and Beethoven in today’s Peanuts Begins

Was the tune while being cranked Ludwig’s ninth symphony?

If this had been published at a later date, the tune on the jack in the box would have been “Roll Over, Beethoven.”

I was thinking the head should be that of Haydn, and the tune played by the box should be the theme from Haydn’s “Surprise Symphony”.

I can’t picture Schroeder doing a bit of the ol’ ultra violence. Now, LUCY, on the other hand…….

Schroeder looks kind of puzzled. Like, “Who is this Beethoven Guy?”
