Sorry Charlie, most dogs are better people than a lot of us two-leggers.

I’m as confused as Snoopy here.

All this time I thought monkeys was the cwaziest people.

And Snoopy hasn’t really started his world famous impersonations yet.

Love Lucy’s comment, “Well I’ll be.” Don’t hear that much anymore. My grandmother from Kentucky used to say, “Well I’ll swan.”

Snoopy thinking, “real people are weird.”

Person, definition 5: “Philosophy. a self-conscious or rational being.”

By classic definition, dogs and cats are both people. Or persons, if you prefer.

Then again there was the plucked chicken being an imitation “featherless biped”…..

In my house our dogs were are kids period end of discussion and oh by the way better behaved than the kids some of our friends had for sure!

They are the upper echelon of mammals.

Animals = the true people, People = the real animals

And Lucy’s a person?

I guess that sets the foundation for later strips when Peppermint Patty refers to Snoopy as the “funny-looking kid with the big nose”.
