It will get bigger again once Pig-Pen shakes out his clothes and brushes himself off.

And Charlie’s getting quite worn down by her.

And so begins the story arc of Lucy telling people they’re wearing down the Earth.

With Lucy it’s just best to nod your head and walk away!

Lucy is someone that you should never talk to.

But then there are people like Lucy who wear other people down! :D

Don’t give the left more ideas. The EPA will issue rules about walking on the ground. FBI will spy on pedestrians. DHS will raid pedestrians’ homes at 4:00 am.

As good as any conspiracy theory you’ll hear online these days…

In a weird way, she’s right. People are wearing the world down.

That might actually be one of the sanest explanations I’ve ever heard.

I still remember being on a nature walk tour with a Park Ranger when I was around 9 to 11 years old. The ranger was talking about how the mass of the earth has been constant since its beginning. I asked him about the landers and stuff we’d left on the moon (this was during the Apollo days). To his credit he didn’t laugh when he explained that this little bit of weight was negligible.

If you don’t consider people to be part of the world, then yes, the more people there are then the less world there is…because people are made out of worldstuff. Imagine the world is made of clay, and each person is made by taking a pinch of clay from the world to form the person. With each person made, the world gets a little smaller.

But of course people are part of the world, so the analogy doesn’t work.

I think Lucy may have a valid point.

Get a clue, Lucy. Charlie Brown has more of a point. What once took days, weeks, even months to do got knocked down to hours thanks to the airplane. Distances no longer seemed that great. And in another forty years the internet will begin making the distances seem even less.

That is about right. Pretty insiteful for the 1960s.

Oh no! How long before we completely disappear?

Still unbelievable how much Lucy seems like Marjorie Taylor Spleen. I mean REALLY!!!

Lucy has some interesting if wrong ideas about things in physics, celestial mechanics and biology.

She may be right.
