He looks like the dog version of Mickey-Mouse, but with disorted colors.

This in the days before Disney sued EVERYONE for possible copyright violations. . .

Much later Snoopy’s brother Spike began sporting big yellow shoes, which he always said were a gift from Mickey Mouse.

Does Walt Disney (1901-66) know about this? (He was alive at the time.)

The mouse who shall not be named.

Mickey Mouse’s ears are always in the position Snoopy is imitating, and never move, no matter how Mickey turns his head.

“S-N-O Oh, you and your imitations. O-P-Y Why? Because we hate them! B-E-A-G-L-E!”

The happiest dog on earth.

He can always, say, if questioned by the House of Mouse, Snoopy is imitating an old time studio movie camera!

And Schulz still didn’t use the name. Fairly brilliant. His art style during this period is excellent for a comic strip. It’s Snoopy, but it’s also Beethoven, or Lucy, or Violet.

I bet Walt thought it was funny!

Just a tad discombobulating.

Creepy is what it is!

Schroeder seems to have gotten over his outrage regarding the Beethoven impression.

This whole arc shows the genius of Charles Schulz. With the same basic components he recreated Lucy, Beethoven, Mickey Mouse, etc. Brilliant

THIS is the one I’ve been waiting for.

Now imitate a Disney lawyer…

Someday he will have a great role in a Christmas Play.
