For sure tomorrow, Chuck just listens to Peppermint Patty’s one-sided conversation and just says “Chuck” after the stun.

Reply by saying… “I’m sorry, no one by the name of Chuck lives here. Good-bye!”, than put down the phone.

If she calls again and does the same thing, keep doing the same over and over till she gets you name right. It’ll drive her Nuts!

So Roy has to wear his camp hat to talk to CB? Or is it just so people reading will know who he is?

My late husband had one of those hats, and there are a few pictures of him at about that age wearing his hat away from camp.

If Peppermint Patty persisted in calling, Chuck could have simply used caller ID and ignored her.

And so Charlie’s long nightmare begins…

I – personally – would rather Patty then Lucy.

Just when “Chuck” didn’t think it could get any worse.

Peppermint Patty was always one of Schulz’s favorite characters, even though she appeared over 15 years into the strip. I remember reading that Schulz once said he thought she could carry her own strip.

Well “Chuck” and “Charlie” are both versions of “Charles”.

Actually, I think P. P. is just meant to be totally self-absorbed. I’ve known people like that—people who assign you a nickname whether you want it or not, without consulting you; who force their house rules on you in your own home; who call themselves “a take charge kind of guy” or “a can-do girl” as an excuse to be a control freak. They like to think of themselves, as Patty does, as energetic people—while others see them as insensitive steamrollers.

I know that feel Charlie Brown.

I think I’m going to like this storyline…

I often wonder why Charlie Brown’s nickname was ‘Chuck’ I’ve only been reading Peanuts for over 2 years so sorry if I’m a little slow to catch on.

what’s wrong with Peppermint Patty???!!!!…at least she liked Charlie Brown or Chuck as she called him something Lucy never did Lucy called him blockhead …I’m like Peppermint Patty I wear sandals even to bed I a diabetic and they say never go barefoot of course I don’t wear them in the shower

Look at Charlie Brown’s expression when he was called “Chuck.” He never heard anyone call him that before meeting Peppermint Patty.

Charlie Brown has gotten used to being put down, picked on, and ignored. He’s never met anyone before who openly likes him, and it makes him uncomfortable. He doesn’t know how to respond to Peppermint Patty.
