I liked the “Bunny-Wunnie” stories so much, I hated to see them go in death by cats. Don’t give up so easily Snoopy!
Fun fact: Hermann Hesse was a cat lover. Poor Snoopy!
Ah, Herman Hesse. The author whose book inspired the name of a rock group.
Siddartha I suppose.
From cuddly, sentimental kiddie books to Noble Prize-winning literature. Snoopy is a complicated person.
I’d think Snoopy would do better with Moby Dick. It was a whale of a tale. And Snoopy could become a harpooner.
But what pets did Herman own?
Om.
Uggh. Hesse? I’ll take the Bunny-Wunnie books.
He won’t be getting any ‘love-letters’ from him…
Staying within species: Steppenwolf.
Maybe a little Herman Hesse will help Snoopy get his mind right, or maybe listening to that old rock group, The Mind Benders. Bend this Herman.
At almost 2 weeks this ‘Bunny-Wunnie’ story arc has to be one of the longer ones in Peanuts.
If I stopped reading books because there’s something I don’t like about the authors, then I would never read any books at all, and I don’t want that.
I think it woulda been deliciously ironic for Snoopy to pick up a Hemingway tome…
A quick Googling reveals that Hesse was a cat lover, too.
Oops.
Snoopy…Jack London…Call of the Wild and White Fang, buddy!
ROFL!
“For Mad Dogs Only.”
Herman Hesse – who too has a cat
Snoopy, if you refuse to read books by cat-owners, you’re going to find yourself missing out on tons of great literature.
So now Snoopy has switched to a little light reading to get away from the heavy philosophy of the bunny wunnies.
Why NOT Herman Hesse? You can only reread “The Great Gatsby” every so often…
So surprisingly, I don’t know much about Peanuts’ secondary characters, but I think this was a good sacrifice?
Just stay away from Kafka.
Aha! The literature of cat lovers is not rich enough.
