I would have loved to see Snoop recreate the sea battle with the Macedonian pirates. Fun fact, the galley scenes are one of the few historical errors in B-H. Rome never used slaves to power their galleys, only freemen. And, for fans of the 1959 version, check out the silent 1925 version. The chariot race is just as good if not better
As usual on Sunday, we do not see Panel 2 of the original comic: https://www.gocomics.com/peanuts/1976/02/29
It shows that Snoopy put up a tape barrier around his house, which makes sense because he is charging (5c?) for admission to the show. Linus paid for admission, but did Lucy? I suspect she went under the tape without paying.
I remember my mother grumping about how a star of Ben Hur & The Ten Commandments could wind up on a nighttime soap like The Colbys. Obviously she never saw Planet Of The Apes.

Has anyone here read “Ben Hur” by Lew Wallace? I’d love to know how they enjoyed it, as it’s one of my favourite books.

Mr. Heston told the director he didn’t think he could win the chariot race. The director assured him, “Just hold on, Chuck. I’ll make sure you win.”

Statler: Now that’s a one-man show.
Waldorf: Why’s that?
Statler: Only one man showed up!
Both: Doh ho ho ho.

OK, another old joke.
The scene in the movie was a second take.
Cecil B. DeMille had three crews set up to film it. After it was staged, he contacted the crews to see how it came out.
Crew number 1 responded, “Sorry boss. We weren’t ready. When it started, we got so engrossed we forgot to film it.”
Crew number 2 responded, “I don’t know how this happened, but we forgot to put film in the camera.”
Cecil asked the 3rd crew, “Tell me you’re alert. Tell me you put film in your camera.”
They responded, “Everything is good here. We’re ready whenever you are.”

I’m sure Snoopy’s performance was even more exciting, but here is Charlton Heston in 1959:
