My wife sometimes says, “You don’t listen to anything I say.”

My response is, “Dear, I DO listen to everything you say. However, you talk so much that I simply cannot absorb it all.”

Ironically, today we don’t listen because we want to reply before the other person is even done talking.

If I can tell someone’s not really listening to me, I just stop talking to them. Life’s too short to waste time on people who don’t value what you have to say.

“Oh, and you used that ‘dog’ word that rhymes with ‘witch’ to describe me!”
