I’m with Marcie here. Dorothy Parker may have written ‘Men seldom make passes at girls who wear glasses’, but it’s not true in reality.

Men often make passes at girls who wear glasses, it really depends on their frames ;o) xo

She looks cute in her glasses. I had to get them in 5th grade, wear them all the time!

It might make her appear smarter than she really is.

If you need them, Peppermint Patty, you wear them!

An astigmatism causes you to be tired? I suppose if your eyes are too strained.

Let me get this straight: Peppermint Patty struggles with basic arithmetic but can easily interpret “uncorrected astigmatism?” I’m pretty sure I could use the phrase “uncorrected astigmatism” with my high schooler and they’d have no idea what I just said.

I had to be put in the front row in class, starting in first grade, because of nearsightedness. When I finally got glasses in third grade, it was a great relief, and I never wanted to be without them after that. Couldn’t have cared less how I looked.

Admittedly, at this point in my life, using progressive lenses is not a perfect solution, but it’s a heck of a lot better than no glasses at all, or constantly switching between pairs.

Does anyone here have a higher prescription than I do? I’m minus 20 dioptres; i.e. very, VERY short-sighted.
