I think Goat would have better conversations with Verne than Pig or Rat.

The ottomans were defeated because they were led by the Grand Divan…….who folded under just a little pressure.

Okay, okay; today’s Comments, otherwise known as Puns Gone Wild, have sated me! So I’ll just note that I don’t recall studying the Barcalounger Dynasty in history class—unless they where a collateral offshoot from old Hamilcar Barca, father of a more infamous son….

@Notsoastute—It caused a crisis at the United Nations when someone dropped the Thanksgiving Day dinner…it meant the fall of turkey and grease, & the breakup of china!

No one seems to recall the invasion of the Mongol Horde, and it’s leader, Futon the slightly familiar. He claimed the country as his own, and pronounced himself King. Unfortunately, eating Turkish cuisine gave him severe gastric issues, and he spent most of his reign in the bathroom, which is why, to this day, toilets are referred to as Thrones.

I think that “tiny little sofas” is a lot funnier than “. . . that an empire built of footstools [or hassocks] would collapse.”

The La-Z-Boys could have conquered the Ottomans, but they lacked the motivation! ; ))

There’s a game where “the Empire” is trying to take over the whole universe and a little kid reports about an airborne fortress by refering to a “flying footrest.” Without missing a beat my husband turned to me and said “They must be the Ottoman Empire.” it craked me up for a week….
