Rat: Where's Pig? Stephen: I hired him as an assistant. So today he's writing 'STP' on all my socks and underwear. Rat: What's 'STP'? Stephen: My initials, Stephan Thomas Pastis. Pig: Okay, Steph. All done. Stephen: I said 'STP', not 'STD'. Pig: I don't hear that well. Rat: Oh, you will so charm the ladies.
I just learned, from a book I was reading, that in France, “pastis” is an anise flavored spirit, fairly strong.Yes, I know that Stephan Pastis is of Greek descent, not French, and no, I’m not making a point. Although if Pastis gets hammered on pastis he’d better not start dancing around in his underwear now.
