The look on Marigold’s face in the last panel makes me feel like I should be hearing a rimshot on a snare drum right about now…

I’m trying to figure out how the charge is aggravated? In terms of charges that means that the act was performed with a weapon.

Sheesh! They really gotta scare a little girl like THAT!?

Unicorns.

I wonder if Marigold giving Phoebe the temporary unicorn tail might have riled up the unicorn judges this time? Being “sentenced to not being a unicorn” might mean that Phoebe is forbidden to become a unicorn (in whole, if not in part, since Marigold did give her the temporary tail recently [and early on, offered to give Phoebe a permanent tail if she wished]), and:

In the old-style English courtroom trials, I thought it was the judges—and perhaps also the attorneys—who wore powdered wigs, not the jurors.

To be pointless is not good for a unicorn…

Now we must see those unicorns in wigs. Make it happen, Dana.

There’s room here for a “Rumpole” joke, even though a horn is not a pole, but, naw, don’t think I’ll do it.

Is this the first time Phoebe’s unicorn friend has looked sheepish? (I admit to not having read every strip there is.)

I’m having trouble imagining a unicorn in a peruke…. 8^)

I would think that this trial should be different. Phoebe did have a unicorn tail for a period of time recently and this may be entered in as evidence that she is a unicorn at heart, or at the very least a Unicorn Reservist.

I’m with Phoebe on this one. Pointless… not to mention unfair. And wigs? Isn’t the mane enough?

So, wait. Let me get this straight.

She’s accused of not being a unicorn.Charged with not being a unicorn.Sentenced to not be a unicorn.

…And then accused again of not being a unicorn?

They accuse and charge her for something they themselves sentence her to? That’s just wrong, man!

I feel like they missed a great pun… the charges are that Phoebe is “pointless”

Unicorns love wigs

Marigold’s embarrassed expression in the last panel really shows how much she’s grown interacting with Phoebe and others who are not unicorns. Wouldn’t bet against her not thinking about how silly such a thing is before she became best friends with a adorably nerdy little girl.
