Earl if you want to be off the leash. Turn off your phone.

My ex-wife used the cellphone as a digital leash, right about that time the “We don’t need no stinking leashes” phrase came out. Hence, I tended to forget my leash. Sometimes at home, sometimes at work. Todays strip gave me chills…..not the good kind.

Don’t] pass GO. Both of you go straight home and to the doghouse!

No doubt time to go home and then drive Opal to the fabric store.

Doggone it! Opal is dogged in her surveillance of Earl.

I forget my phone all the time, nice to get away from it all, maybe unconsciously that’s why!

But I can’t even say I am driving now as my car has the hands free built in!

Or just letting it go to voice mail. “Please leave a message at the tone. Unless you’re Opal, whom I already know will give me plenty of ‘tone’ when I get home!”

That is why I don’t have a cell phone.

My cellphone doesn’t work at home (in the mountains), I’m kind of glad! Those group chats are the worst! People tethered to their phones…(I’m showing my age now!)

I think when you are living with someone it’s polite to say you are leaving for an hour. Opal might have been worried. It sounds like he just walked out and didn’t let her know. He doesn’t need permission to walk Roscoe, but it would be polite to let Opal know he was leaving.

Or Earl, tell Opal to chill. You not on a leash, and YOU need to believe in that.

Considering Earl does absolutely nothing around the house with no interest in anything Opal likes, why does he think he’s on a leash/

Electronic leash

Tis good for both of them to escape the stalag once in a while.
