True, but tortoises can be very affectionate. Mine often sits on my lap while I work at the PC.

Tortoises are pretty consistent. It takes a long long time for tortoises to get from one place to another in the same way it takes them a long long time to get to the end of their lives.

Get Married… it’s lots of fun.

Or get a parrot. They’re supposed to live a long time.

Roscoe has been featured in quite a few strips lately. I like that…but don’t tell Muffin.

I’ve had turtles and tortoise. They both move a lot faster than people realize. I handed my turtles over to the next door neighbor girl when I went off to college. They were close to 15 years old at that point. When she finished high school she passed them to one of the school teachers. The were 25 years old then. Last time I asked about them the teacher still had them and were passing the 50 year mark.

Than again, A Tortoise would never make it to your funeral on time.

I’ve seen several hilarious videos of a young tortoise on a skateboard, scooting along at a pretty amazing pace. There are also videos of older ones who move more slowly, but use the skateboard due to injuries, also charming.

Get a parrot. They often outlive their original owners. Very high maintenance though.

Slow, but sure, wins the race. Just make sure your boss isn’t a Type-A.

He could train a tortoise to fetch the Frisbee, but he’ll be in college by the time it’s returned.

You can have anything you want, but not everything you want.
