It is so funny to see today’s kids snapping up various styles of antennae to attach to their television for “free” TV. They don’t seem to know or remember that broadcast TV has always been free. It’s only the cable and satellite services that cost money.
I still use a 10-foot span herringbone, with 12 radials on each side of the beam, tapering from 3-to-1 foot, at the tips. Admittedly, since I have roughly 60-feet of under-turf coax—-I do use a signal-amp, to compensate for loss. But I’ve no problem whatsoever, with the O.T.A.-digital-signals. (Or I should say, my-wife has no problem with such: I’ve not watched more than an-hours’ total on it in the past-year.) That’s what I have Broadband Internet for, instead! Helluva-lot more entertaining…!

I hated it when the floppy antennas wouldn’t stay put! :(
