Grew up in a family of only four and we never over ate, gluttony was not in our vocabulary. I never understood the need to stuff one’s face on Thanksgiving.
We don’t overeat as we have to stay on our Diabetes diets/high blood pressure/low thyroid diets. (And whatever is ok for one medical condition is a problem for one of the others.) “Cheating” on a diet is only cheating on one’s self.
I cooked Thanksgiving dinner same as I used to cook when our families joined us for same. Yes, an entire turkey for 2 people. We will eat it during this week following holiday and then I will freeze the rest to use in meals over time. Vegetables will be replaced with new vegetables as the week goes along and for later meals- same with stuffing. Over about 2 weeks the pies will be eaten – 1/16 of a pie at a time each.

You would expect the cartoon to show a Bear character prior to Hibernation.

None of the above. Since I make most of the meal, I stick to the basics.
